Welcome to the wiki supporting James Collier's section of Technical Writing (English 3764 at Virginia Tech) for summer II, 2012.
If you would indulge me, so we can get to know one another and in order for you to get a feel for how the wiki works, on joining the wiki please post a brief personal sketch on the Profiles page.
Generally, I recommend not composing on wiki pages. With exceptions — a brief profile, response or edit — please compose your work in your word processing program, save it, and paste it to the wiki. When in use, a page locks out other users until the writer finishes and saves changes. Please keep this protocol in mind when considering last-minute posts. If the wiki gives you any trouble, contact me.
Course Description
Principles and procedure of technical writing; attention to analyzing audience and purpose, organizing information, designing graphic aids, and writing such specialized forms as abstracts, instructions, and proposals.
